Review on πŸŒ€ Fanimation Beckwith Indoor Ceiling Fan with Shade Light Kit, 12 inch, Oil Rubbed Bronze - FP7964BOB by Christopher Foreman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The fan is great but the light is dim!

Very good fan. The light (with the included bulbs) is NOT very bright. My kitchen is quite small - about 12x10 - and too dark to use alone at night when I want to cook. I also need to turn on the light above the sink and above the stove. A little annoying, but the fan makes up for it! Since my house was built in 1930, it has some peculiarities, one of which is that the previous owners did not connect the air duct to the kitchen, which makes summer cooking quite difficult! This fan changes all that and makes it bearable. Initially we wanted to invite an electrician, but after looking at the instructions we decided to try it ourselves. I noticed that some reviewers split the cables so the light or fan is connected separately. My husband and I are new homeowners and our skill level has yet to be matched so we did a standard install which means everything is controlled by remote control. IM getting used to it! Three fan speeds are good - the highest setting is an industrial-grade intensity. Perhaps you would use it if you were filling your kitchen with smoke after burning a potato casserole and forgot you left the grill on? Not that I ever did. We had to replace the mounting box and ceiling mount as the instructions warn you they must be rated for a ceiling fan. Make sure you do! This light is not light. If you've ever changed the instrument yourself, don't be intimidated by all the cables - many of them simply connect the instrument to the remote control receiver. Otherwise it doesn't matter!

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • too stupid
