I used this to connect a laptop (HDMI) to a projector (S-Video). The results were awful. While the adapter was easy to set up and did convert the signal correctly (I got the picture on the screen), the quality was beyond bad. Text was unreadable and everything looked rough. (Yes, the projector was in focus. And yes, I tested with two different projectors--a Sharp DLP and a 3M.) I also tried using the yellow RCA video connection. The results were exactly the same. This item caused me to be embarrassed in front of my boss and all my colleagues at our annual meeting--so I am NOT HAPPY. Dump this absolute piece of Chinese junk or you'll end up looking like a fool. Trust me on that.
