I bought them to decorate the gazebo in front of my house. I was so excited when I received it that I installed it straight away. After installation I waited until it got dark and noticed that at the end of my rope (farthest from the solar panel) only two are lit. I thought maybe they weren't fully charged and decided to wait another day. The same happened the next night. So I called customer service and spoke to the most accommodating customer rep who immediately sent me another string (also sent me a return label so I didn't have to pay to send the thick one back). When the new one came I tested it (BEFORE) installing it and it worked great. They are so pretty and I love that they come with a remote control. So if for some reason I need to turn them off or switch modes, I can do that with no problem. I love them so much I bought several packs so I can decorate my garden too.The only thing I would like to say is make sure they all work before you install them so you can save time and energy .
