I just received mine and immediately noticed that the base plate is slightly larger than the hole for a large pot. I want a board that fits edge to edge at the bottom but is obviously loose enough to allow for expansion when heated. This can lead to slightly uneven heating of the bottom of the crust. The floor may have moved during or after the test was loaded. If the dough is sticky, it will expand as it heats and contract as it cools. Call me a picky perfectionist. I looked at the ones I had and the plate fits tighter - because the manufacturer wasn't cheap! Obviously this was done to save pennies from the cost of the metal itself.
