I typically disbelieve the claimed capacity of aftermarket batteries, so the first thing I did was open the battery to check its construction. The shell is identical to original batteries, and is easily opened by removing the four screws with security Torx T-10 screws.Inside I found a ten cell battery, connected as 5 series 2 parallel. The internal construction was high quality, with a molded plastic cell frame and full cell protection. The protection uses a CellWise CW1053 5 Cells Protection IC and an unmarked battery gauge IC. It doesn't appear to have cell balancing.Surprisingly I found the cells were marked as 2000 mAh e.g. 2 amp-hours. With two in parallel that would make this a 4 amp-hour battery. While unbranded cells frequently fall short of their labeled capacity, this is a reasonably credible capacity and the battery manufacturer is only claiming 75% of that number on the outside.I did have some problems getting my Craftsman charger to start charging the battery, but it did eventually work to charge the battery to 19.3V, reading exactly 3.857V per cell at charge termination.I'll post a follow-up if that charging problem persists or I find out anything surprising about the capacity after a few break-in cycles.
