This is perfect for my young hermit crabs! Herm and Dee are still very small, so they fit easily into the cave. I also dug some sand underneath so they will fit even as they grow into larger shells. However, for a large hermit, this is probably not the best option. My only complaint is that my first one arrived broken. This was mainly because Revain packed it with heavy sand which crushed it, but they fixed it very quickly and sent me a new one which arrived intact. In the attached photos, brown is the first one I received. along with standard size lip balm for reference. The one in the tank is a gray replacement; They seem to come in a variety of colors.
