It's very nice looking and the perfect size for the whole beans of coffee. It fits an entire bag of coffee beans with about an inch to spare at the top. The lid comes off easily enough, but feels very snug inside the jar. It is airtight. I ran it through the dish washer when I first got it and it came out just fine. The glass does obviously keep fingerprints all over it, so you'd have to wipe it with a dry paper towel every once in a while, probably about 1/2 way through the beans. I bought the smaller 550 ML one, too, for the ground coffee and it's also quite nice. I would like to see more wood color options for the lid and a less noticeable logo on the bottom (not that it matters when it is full), but otherwise it's great.
