My typical laptop is an HP Specter x360 or Macbook Pro. Last year I decided to give the Microsoft Surface Book 3 a try, going for the high-end model with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. It was overpriced (nearly $3,400), but since it was made entirely by Microsoft, I felt the quality was worth the price. But I realized that I was wrong: 1) The battery life is almost 2-2.5 hours when just using a simple application like Excel. The display said 8-10 hours. 2) The screen freezes randomly despite installing Windows Update. It took me some time to figure out how to solve this problem. 3) The speakers make almost no sound. The audio is unusually quiet even though the volume is set to 100%, which is not recommended. 4) A few weeks ago the USB ports stopped working one by one and now I can't use an external hard drive on this VERY expensive piece of metal. .5) Violation of warranty: Microsoft's warranty is said to start on the day I purchased this device and end one year later. When I tried to contact them they told me that my warranty had already expired, less than a year. In other words, the message I hear from Microsoft is "Your money is already gone, leave us alone." buy such a product.
