People said it was cheap but I think it's exactly the same quality, weight etc as the original. This solved the problem I had in the original where the mute button didn't work really well. This one works well, mostly better than the original (which worked well from the start), but suffers from a problem I think is common with cheap devices of all kinds with buttons: they click or sometimes like - they feel different. You clicked it, but the target device does not register the click (in this case, the TV is not muted). But there are far fewer issues with it, so I got an upgrade for about $9 or so. What can you expect for this price? If your remote keeps giving you problems, this should solve most or all of your problems.
