Required item for a Sony HX 300 camera The camera does not come with a separate battery charger and the only way to charge the battery is to use the cable and charge the battery in the process is in the camera. This is inconvenient because the camera cannot be used while the battery is being charged. The best alternative is to buy one of these devices and a spare battery. The device does an excellent job of charging the battery and if you have a second battery one can be charged while the other is in the camera - ready to shoot. The device is small and has multiple indicators that show the progress toward a full charge. That should be sent in the camera box!
