Review on πŸ’‘ Dimmable Equivalent Replacement for MD Lighting by Christine Rogers

Do not use a Lurton Maestro LED Dimmer

I bought these 100 watt equivalent corn bulbs to replace the 60 watt halogen bulbs in a four light bathroom fixture. I have a Lutron Maestro LED dimmer for this light. When I installed the first LED bulb in place of one of the halogen bulbs just to measure relative brightness, I was very impressed with how much brighter it was. So I replaced three other halogen bulbs with LEDs and immediately noticed problems. The first problem was that the LED corn lights never went out completely. They remained moderately dimly lit and flickered continuously. When I then turned the dimmer to full brightness, the four LED bulbs didn't reach full brightness like one bulb when combined with the halogen bulbs. I don't think the four LED bulbs were even as bright as the halogen bulbs when the dimmer was turned all the way up. So I had to reinstall a 60w halogen bulb with three led bulbs in order for the led bulbs to work adequately. LED lamps do not dim to a low brightness level that even comes close to the low brightness level of a halogen lamp. In my estimation, their lowest brightness level is probably around the average brightness level of a halogen lamp. The problem isn't the Lurton dimmer, I have five other working LED bulbs and Lutron Maestro LED lights in my house and they work great. I also tried the old style dimmer LED corn bulbs I had in my house. The dimmer was a toggle switch dimmer so I had no issues with the LED staying on when the switch was off, but the LED bulbs didn't reach full brightness and flickered heavily when the dimmer was adjusted. Decided I would not return the bulbs because the installation with three LED bulbs and one 60w halogen bulb is brighter than four 60w halogen bulbs. I'm frustrated that with three LED bulbs and one halogen bulb I have to use 90W total instead of 40W when the LED bulbs were working properly and now I have three LED bulbs that are brighter than one. halogen lamp. For these reasons, I give MD Lighting LED bulbs one star.
