Like anyone who's amassed their fair share of electronics over the years, I've spilled a few rat's nests of cables (to the point I can't remember what some of these are ) going but I keep them anyway because you never know when you might need them). Since twists are a bit painful, I figured it would be better to use something a little fancier. It certainly helped; Shorter cable ties are small enough for the cables that you get with smartphones and tablets, and can also help keep cables like those from earbuds or headphones from getting tangled. Longer ones, on the other hand, can be used for anything from patch cords, HDMI or MIDI cables to electrical appliances or power strips. Finding the right diameter can be a bit of a hassle. That being said, I shouldn't be worried about them failing anytime soon, so I think that's a net positive. I would definitely buy again if I needed more.
