They are really good. The large black body is smooth flat black and the brass body on top is real metal. The cable looks pretty cheap and would have been better in quality and aesthetics with a plain black fabric cable, but at least the cable that comes with it isn't flimsy and flimsy. This is a good piece of wire, thick and durable. The only downside to an unlaced cable is that it's very difficult to straighten, so I suggest using a screwdriver and pulling the cable towards the round metal rod on the screwdriver as if you were pulling kraft paper tape to straighten it, before you hang it up..otherwise it will be full of creases. A beautiful, simple piece to add a touch of elegance to a dull room.
