I don't have a top for my 2018 Jeep so I use this cover every time I need to quickly put a cover on. I haven't used it during a heavy downpour so I'm not sure it will handle it. I wore it through 24 hours of continuous rain and it kept the inside dry. The material is a bit thin and it has already torn at the seam where it covers the side mirror but is still usable and will keep the car dry.
