The technology you can buy today for less than $40 is amazing. This thing has a battery for backup to save time etc until power comes back. When you plug it in, it automatically sets the time and date! What a journey. You press the time zone button until you get to your time zone and the device remembers that because of the backup battery. The speaker sounds surprisingly good, not unlike some $30 Bluetooth speakers you can buy. The radio fits pretty well too. The night light integrated in the base is adjustable and emits a pleasant light when required. I didn't use a cordless phone charger as my phone doesn't have that feature, but I assume it works fine too. It also has a USB port on the back for charging your phone or device, which is handy. The numbers on the clock are large and bright (brightness is adjustable if dimmer is needed) and easy to see. In short, these Bluetooth clock radios from Emerson pack a punch for the money.
