I used to use a tube with a hanger and syringe. I've seen it get cheaper, costing around $15. Why don't you try it? Other reviews commented that the tube was plastic and the markings were worn and that they wanted MotionPro to engrave the numbers. I think MotionPro was listening because the device I have is metal and has numbers engraved on it. I personally will use the recommended settings from the owner's manual and still measure with a tape measure. This is a great product that is well made. I didn't notice the plastic tube slipping off the metal straw, but if I see a problem I can use tape to hold them together. Duct tape is meant to seal air ducts anyway, so I think it should fix any leaks like this. Small hose clamps are an option, but almost ridiculous given the size of the straw. Maybe a zipper? Anyway, it works well for me and stores easily in a drawer or tool box when the job is done. The instructions recommend using a water-based cleaner like Simple Green to clean the tool after use. Good luck and thank you MotionPro for a great product!
