Review on 💾 WD5000AADS 500GB Caviar Green Desktop Hard Drive - SATA 3 Gb/s, Intellipower, 32MB Cache - Bulk/OEM by Shawn Pollock

I bought this hard drive as the main drive for a general purpose server. I ran game servers, language servers and a few different chat servers on it for personal use. My main desktop had large, slow fans that needed to be as quiet as possible, so I tried to keep the server (which was also under my desk) quiet as well. The variable speed seems to work pretty well. I didn't notice any I/O bottlenecks and after the first start I hardly hear the hard drive anymore. In fact, there's not much to say about a working hard drive. Make sure you understand that this is an OEM and does not come with any cables, screws or anything else. Knowing this in advance, this disc met all my needs.
