Many times other stand finders failed and we ended up using the wall tapping method to find stands for so many projects. Everyone has told me that there is no need to spend a lot of money on a spike finder. It is not worth. I absolutely disagree! Using this trusty spike finder has made life MUCH easier. Borrowed from a friend, I decided to buy it myself. Not only did this help in finding bolts in the garage to hang our pulley system for our boards, but also in finding a bolt center to place 6 brackets for my heavy 18ft shed. . It was impressive and a lot easier than guessing not only the location of the spikes, but also the center of each spike. It's so easy to use and so accurate. Highly recommended even if you are not a professional builder.
