Black color absorbs light!
I ordered a dozen black pencils because I thought there were more and the price is great. I have ever worked with Haven't had a chance to test the dry time yet as I haven't gotten to the intended canvas yet, but the information below will help. 1) VERY black, like soot. Or darker if possible. 2) The best coverage I've ever seen on an oil stick. 3) VERY smooth surface. Absolutely light absorbing. 4) Much creamier than the Markal stick and thinner skin. This may be because they are very fresh, or it could be due to slower drying times. I will try to update later.
