Last summer (2015) I wanted to try something different in terms of shoes. I've seen people wear Sperry Topiders and several family members have advertised them as comfortable. I first ordered a pair of Sperrys but my width was nowhere to be found. So I decided to give the Sebago a try and instead of the classic pump boot look I opted for the Clovehitch 2 with mesh sides and EEE width. I've never owned pumps and have always worn socks, but I still chose to wear these shoes without socks. After a year of wear, they've become worn and comfortable, but don't repeat my mistake: buy socks with an invisible lining or you'll get blisters. I actually have a scar on my left heel from last summer where the skin was worn down after a day of walking. Don't let that put you off! Buy a pair of sneakers, don't plan on wearing ready-made pumps in situations where you'll be walking all day, break them in a few hours here, a few hours there, and after a while you'll have a pair of sneakers . comfortable, durable, one-of-a-kind Sebagos that are definitely not your average topside pair. A big plus is the Marine Grip outsole, which performs equally well on wet grass or concrete and is very stable even with thick soles. Overall I recommend buying them if you like the style. The mesh doesn't keep your feet cool as hoped, but it might work well if you actually get caught in the shoe.
