Works fine but you may need a lot of these screws!

I bought a full kit locally, it comes with 50 screws which was barely enough to start with; Since I really wanted to get rid of these mops, I bought this box. All used except the last one. I'll be "like a hot knife through butter" but you should definitely pre-drill a 1/2" bit through hard/soft wood, although having to pre-drill 300 holes is tedious. , it is much easier for them to "enter". The only one I didn't drill all the way through (2 1/4 inches) broke before I got to the right depth, so I had to place another one next to it. The original installation tool is made of nylon/plastic so it wears out fairly quickly. ; On the other hand, after I placed the first 50, about 10 of them didn't snap, so I had to turn around to take them off and put them back on, being mindful of the correct depth. I then gave up and started placing them all with my free hand. This was a much quicker job as I just manually tightened the screws and went in with a screwdriver. In general, if you have a lot of squeaks, be prepared to fix and use a lot of screws. Probably need 3 drawers for each room plus 3 more for the hallway. Yes, in "this old house" the entire attic creaks much better. Not 100% squeak free but good considering how it used to be. As I said, I made a commitment so I happily went on like a woodpecker digging holes, but eventually that top floor had to be completely redone with the new subfloor, construction glue and screws to properly install the new wood. Recommended? Only if holes are not needed. Even covered they are noticeable - and if the filler doesn't match >90% then this may not be for you.
