Review on Virzen Portable Monitor Computer Nintendo S02: 15.6" 60Hz – Ultimate Visual Companion on the Go by Mike Hersey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Virzen 15.6 portable monitor is a great product with a lot of flexibility

As a graphic designer, I travel a lot, but I always miss the much-appreciated second screen in the home office or at work. The Virzen 15.6-inch portable monitor gives me that kind of flexibility. I pair it with my Dell XPS 15 9550 and I can honestly say that for a 1080p monitor it's very impressive (to say the least). I didn't buy it for the color accuracy, but more for email and my Adobe tools and brush palettes. This is for watching news or the latest YouTube videos. This frees up my laptop's main screen for work only. Colors are what you would expect from this price range and contrast and brightness are great and do the job very well. This monitor is solidly built. Came in nice packaging with no dead pixels. Best of all, it's easily powered via a single USB-C cable, which is included in the box. If you want to connect it to other sources that don't deliver USB-C power or can only work via HDMI, you can still power the monitor up with the included power cord. The thing is as compact and slim as a tablet and fits in my work bag next to my laptop. The protective case feels comfortable while also serving as a platform to support your monitor. How does that compare to portable monitors that plug into the back of a laptop? A few things to note. I don't want to put extra stress on your laptop's hinges. I don't want to permanently attach some sort of adapter to the back of your laptop to add bulk. I don't want to pay more than 100€. What I really need is something well built, compact like a tablet that I can take with me or not, or use with a laptop, or for something else like Netflix and gaming. There are many things to consider, but honestly you can't go wrong with this particular brand. A++ to the end.

Pros
  • Easy to use and the picture quality is stable.
Cons
  • This is not very good for mobile use. Cables are cheap and don't form a strong connection.
