Review on JRready Adjustable Electrical Connector Accessory by Joe Medlin

Great alternative to DMC crimping machines

These crimping machines are a rough copy of the DMC crimping machines, but a good copy. In the photos I've posted you can see this device next to the Daniels AF8 for size comparison. All materials feel just as good as they do on my DMC crimping machines and are just as well finished. The real crimps also look just as good as the ones on my DMC crimping machine. The actual crimp dies are the same pattern as on the DMC tool and the tolerances appear to be just as good - this JR enabled tool passes my Go/NoGo test pin just like my DMC tool. The JR Ready accepts the same turrets as me. Use in my DMC crimping machine and actual operation is very similar. One difference that might confuse you if you're used to using DMC is that the dial rotates in the opposite direction on JR-enabled devices. Another difference that doesn't really matter to me but might matter to some people is that the JR Ready doesn't have the delicate ratchet found in DMC units. The JR-enabled device has fewer stops, so the ratcheting action is a little rougher. All in all, this device is a good way to save some money compared to the original DMC product while retaining almost all of the usability and functionality. Just note that they don't come with any kind of calibration certificate. However, if you're using them in a facility that requires traceable certificates, I don't think you're going to be looking at third-party crimping tools on Revain to save yourself a few hundred bucks.
