Cast iron cookware is one of the most versatile kitchen utensils. But it's important to treat it properly. Scrapers are ideal for removing leftover food from the pan after cooking. The slotted scraper is perfect for double sided grills/pans. After removing large chunks from the pan, I add some kosher salt (because the grains are larger) and brush it with a nylon brush. Sometimes a little soap is needed, but usually not. These cleaners help keep the "wort" intact. A silicone pen case is also handy. The CI gets very hot and the grip cover is not as prone to wear and tear as the old cloth grip covers I used to use.
