Absolutely useless, couldn't find any stove leaks

I bought this unit in Spring 2017 and installed it in my basement near the stove. A few days ago (a little less than two years later) the heat exchanger in the furnace broke, and carbon monoxide seeped into the basement and spread throughout the house. I had two combination carbon monoxide and smoke detectors on my second floor, but this device was completely silent. Firefighters measured 160 parts per million carbon monoxide in the basement where the unit was located, which is much higher than the second floor. After this incident, the test button on this unit confirmed that the batteries are still good, so I have no idea what the problem is. I'm going to replace this block with something that hopefully works.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I won't say anything
