New solution to pen-around-the-neck

This pen-necklace does two things that nothing else I've tried have done, providing immediate access to a fountain pen whilst protecting the pen body from scratches. It's a terrific value for money, in my opinion. I bought one, and then I bought two more. Its swivel-ring keeps it flat against my chest at all times and always balanced for one-handed uncapping/recapping my fountain pens.I edit a lot. For me that means sitting around marking up a manuscript with a fountain pen, making a note, capping the fountain pen, putting the fountain pen somewhere, not remembering where I put the fountain pen, going to get another fountain pen, uncapping the pen, not being able to find where I put the cap, tearing the immediate area apart because I don't dare just put an uncapped fountain pen down where the nib will try out or (Ghod forbid) I accidentally put the uncapped pen where it comes into contact with something that will absorb the ink out of the pen and leave me with a permanent inkstain the size of Manhattan Island. This pen-leash is designed to keep the pen nib end up, so no collection of excess ink in the nib feed or the cap itself. The swivel ring keeps the pen side of the keeper facing front so I don't have to fumble to re-orient the pen while I am wearing the necklace. I've tried other ad-hoc solutions such as hanging a pen off an ordinary necklace or chain, but my attempts have always resulted in a pen that is not on straight, an unbalanced pen-pendant, the fear of scratching the pen's barrel against a metal chain, and other such drawbacks.I'm delighted with this new approach to a fountain pen "leash" or necklace and can recommend it to people who do a lot of writing or editing with a fountain pen in a variety of settings, especially ones in which one is making a brief note-capping the pen-uncapping the pen again over & over.Edited after some weeks of use: As a strictly miscellaneous note, I recommend using a snap-cap or click-top type pen with this holder. When I use it with a screw-type cap (like many of my fountain pens) I have to pay attention to screwing the cap on all the way. When I don't screw the cap on all the way and continue to wear the pen holder around the house, I've had the loose barrel of the pen work its way out of the cap by natural motion. So use other-than-screw-top-type fountain pens if you're going to use a fountain pen (and I still love it!).

Pros
  • It seemed slims but I've used it everyday fig my keys and still holding up after a year.
Cons
  • The lanyard may not be suitable for individuals who require a more secure or heavy-duty design
