I would give 6 stars! The kit I got from the vet had an awful wand with a brush that wasn't shaped like a toothbrush (it was wedge-shaped). The bristles were soft but bent easily when brushed. I chose this toothbrush based on two characteristics: The shape of the brush is correct (doesn't stretch out at one end) so it's not too wide for a cat's mouth. And it's made in the USA! And the price is very reasonable. I've been using it daily for over a week now and I love it. The length and width of the soft bristles are *perfect* for a cat's mouth. My vet says that the upper teeth tend to accumulate the most plaque as the lower teeth are being stripped away by the upper teeth. The bristles are soft but clean well thanks to their large number. The length of the bristle area means I cover a larger area with the same number of brush strokes. And I can get a fair amount of toothpaste on the brush (it has enzyme ingredients). This is a great cat toothbrush! Kitty doesn't particularly like brushing her teeth, but she tolerates it. YMMV.
