Review on Pioneer WYS Series Heat Pump Systems - Enhanced Wi-Fi Remote Programming and Access Module by Joey Pritchard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great and a must have for any _compatible_ split zone air conditioner

Although this listing is for Pioneer multi zone split air conditioners I will refer to the part number shown when looking for a Wi-Fi module . for my Cooper and Hunter multi-zone air conditioning. I bought 5 of these modules for each of the 5 zones. I don't know why others have reported such difficulty installing modules and it bothered me prior to purchase, but my installation went smoothly. Others reported that it was necessary to press the red activation button on the module 7 times to put the module into self-hosted hotspot activation mode, but that didn't work for me. I only had to press the red button once to activate the mode. On one of my zones I had to disconnect and reconnect the module and then press the red activation button again, but after that everything was fine. Installation was easy: 1. Scan the QR code in the app on your mobile device2. Press module button to activate3. Connect to 4-module proprietary wireless access point mode on your mobile device. Finish adding the zone in the app and give it a name. The ability to control a multi-zone split air conditioner over Wi-Fi is a must! Not only do you have the ability to remotely control the units via your mobile device, but you can also use the units to perform climate scheduling, which is very important. Thanks to another commenter who recommended using the Media Air app. instead of the "NetHome Plus" app listed in the installation instructions for managing the modules. The Media Air app is very similar to Net Home Plus, but gives you more control over devices, particularly the On Timer and Off Timer features, which are also not available in the NetHome Plus app. like the ability to adjust the "sleep curve" if you want to change it from the default to increase/decrease the temperature by 2 degrees every 2 hours for the first 4 hours and turn off after 8 hours. Interestingly, both applications use the same credentials. In other words, I was able to log into the Media Air app with the same username and password that I created for the NetHome Plus app. I wasn't expecting this, but since the apps look so similar, I tried it and it worked. I highly recommend this module for any of your A/C split zone units as long as it is listed as compatible.
