DOD/Gov computers require advanced setup

I've been using it for almost a month. It's a bit difficult, but it worked. But when I got the new icon today, the computer didn't recognize it. The product support page has instructions for military and government users to uninstall and reinstall many things to get it working. It might work for me, but it shouldn't be that hard, and I won't be messing around with security certificates (I'm not a security expert, so who knows what loopholes I might open - those certificates aren't trusted for some reason). I have a couple of cheap plastic readers that work great with the new badge without further adjustments. Unfortunately, it is too late for me to send it back. But now the product is useless for me.
