Two things: I'm curious that no other man has mentioned this. The seam on compression shorts runs right down the middle, so there's no "pocket" for boys. Hanging around the house is fine, but it's very uncomfortable on the run, and I'm constantly adjusting which side of the seam I have to "hang around" on. My regular boxer shorts have a pocket and similar shorts from another manufacturer have a pocket, but I don't like them because the pocket is a bit loose. I like shorts (mainly for the pockets) so I cut out the lining and just wear boxers but that kinda defeats the purpose. "Large" without looking at the dimensional grid. But that sizing chart seemed to indicate that a medium would be the right size, so I got this. They are not too small to wear, but they are smaller than I would have preferred and are a bit tight on "high knees". So how do I rate "suitability"? If I were to buy large items like I usually do, I wouldn't go by the size chart. But following the size chart gave me something small. So take it how you want. The other shorts I mentioned have the same waist and were large. But a little baggy in the cuff so they are suitable for high knee training.
