Our six year old Vizio soundbar stopped working, so I investigated several systems. I wanted something with more power and bass. I almost unplugged the $500 system but I saw a $25 coupon attached to it and thought worst case scenario it could go into our bedroom. Setup is very easy, I used an optical cable, connected, installed our Vizio 55 to turn on the surround sound and turned on the unit. The sound is an extreme improvement. We watch our shows and movies through the Roku 4 and are very happy with the sound quality. Today I listened to rap, rock and greatest hits bass so you know I had to take my wife's refreshing air off the shelf there because the bass shook her to the brim when I watched star wars vii and was happy when we did switched to live tv to watch the ball fall the system just hissed. After looking at the sound settings on the tv i found i had to set it to PCM, i set it to digital first. Roku still plays via PCM, so that's not an issue. The only thing I wanted with this system was a digital volume meter. There's no way of knowing how loud you have it, it went up to level 20 and it was too loud for our 14x14 living room today I'm sure I'd been around 30 for my music! After tax and shipping, I spent $109 and couldn't be happier. If I have problems with that I will update. I hope to live at least 5 years.
