My husband likes automatic watches with many function complications, so I asked him to try out this OLEVS brand Ginasy Automatic Watch for Men. He was immediately drawn to the dial, which has a stunning blue sunburst effect. He was also quite taken with the look of the year and month calendars near the dial's 12 o'clock position. He thought that those calendar windows, along with the 3 subdials, gave this watch character and a distinctly handsome appearance. The 24-hour sun/moon subdial above the 6 o'clock position was particularly attractive. The contrast between the hands and the dark dial background made the time very easy to read. My husband also liked the look and feel of the bracelet on his wrist, and was very happy to see that a bracelet adjustment tool was included with the watch. My husband noted that in addition to being automatic, this watch can also be hand wound at the crown. All these positive aspects would have given this watch 4 or 5 stars.Unfortunately, my husband noted some issues with this watch as well. Starting with the lower right pusher which adjusts the date subdial, my husband said that it was not working for the first hour that he was testing the watch. He had tried pushing it repeatedly to no avail. After resetting the watch past midnight several times and swinging the watch back and forth to get the automatic mechanism running, he tested the pusher again and it started working. Next, he cycled through the years using the recessed pusher at the watch's upper left and discovered that they run from 2021-2032, a period of only 11 years. While this is not a particularly expensive watch, it is currently priced well over $125. My husband owns much less expensive watches that have lasted far longer than 11 years, so the idea that the company would not go beyond that date does not inspire a great deal of confidence. Next, although the listing describes this watch as a "chronograph," it only looks like one because it has pushers above and below the crown. This watch actually has no chronograph stopwatch functions whatsoever.Despite these shortcomings, my husband still appreciates the appearance of this handsomely attractive automatic watch, and all of its day, month, date, and year complications. As such, he says that this is really a 3.5 star review. If the watch company addressed some of the above issues, especially the period of available years, it would definitely merit more stars.
