I often fish in the lake with just the trolling motor. When I was trolling into another part of the lake that required using the trolling motor at maximum speed, after a while with the trolling motor running constantly, the trolling motor began to stop, then start and keep going until I slowed down and let what i was thinking cool down I thought the trolling motor was getting too hot. I changed the trolling motor and still have the same problem. That's when I started researching, I didn't really know what that thing did, but I found it cheap enough and replaced it. I was at the lake the other day and the problem was gone. I will buy another one to have on hand if this one fails.
