Just what I needed

With all the web conferencing going on these days, I'm really tired of wearing headphones - my ears seem to be beeping all day. At the same time, I hate the tinny sound of my laptop's built-in speakers, and the last pair of external speakers I had was probably from 2003. That ticks all the boxes. I hooked it up to a 27-inch monitor connected to a quad-port HDMI switch, allowing me to easily switch between my main home computer, secondary computer, and work laptop. They all run Windows and support sending sound to an external monitor. , which doesn't actually have speakers but is happy to stream audio to this soundbar. This is important (compared to a Bluetooth solution for example) because it follows my monitor, keyboard and mouse as I switch devices, and it also fits perfectly under my monitor stand on my desk - it has about 2, 5cm of space on each side so I can just put it there and the sound seems to come out of the monitor and feels very natural without taking up any real desk space. I'd rate the sound quality as very good - not Bose or HK or anything, but still very reliable, especially for use in web conferencing where it appears the person is sitting across the table from me. I've *not* used it to listen to music, so can't appreciate this, but given the clarity for a simple conversation, I'd be surprised if anyone other than true audiophiles found it of concern. The price is also extremely reasonable for what you get. Can it be improved? ? In theory it could have an internal battery so you can charge and work, making it more portable, but it's not really designed for that - it's meant to be plugged into your computer or other device and used. there indefinitely, so personally I won't need this feature, but if you do you might find it useful to know.
