We have a good friend who loves her red wine and always drinks it through a straw to avoid that awful purple (as we call it when your lips/teeth discolor purple from the wine) .) We saw it and realized she needed it. It's a little smaller than the usual big jars we like, but it works. Now she doesn't have to worry about them running out of straws. If you feel like going crazy, you can cover the straw with your finger when pouring the wine, and then make a wine bong to drink the wine like a beer bong. if that's what you're into.
