Review on Shogun 2003 2008 Suzuki Sliders 2009 2011 by Michael Weaver

but it looks like they do the job

I haven't had the opportunity (nor plan to test them) but they seem to do the job. I deduct one star for the lack of installation instructions and for the processing. Basically it's plastic (presumably abs) that appears to be 3D printed. I was hoping for a slightly more polished look rather than being able to see the ridges on the plastic (they look great from a distance). In terms of installation, the Shogun offers ample information on which slider goes where (the shorter washer and gasket comes with the shorter bolt on the left when you're on the bike). What the Shogun doesn't talk about is the torque specs. "Torque meets OEM specs." Well, the OEM spec can be pretty hard to come by. I ended up tightening to 40 lb-ft which I found in the service manual for the 03-12 second generation. The bolts you will be replacing are the frontmost engine mounting bolts, so you don't just have to "tighten them very hard". I used some red Loctite, but the rated torque exceeds the breaking torque for red Loctite, so you really shouldn't need thread lock (the standard screws don't). Some people also mention using these footrests. I'm not sure how comfortable it is to bring your knees to your chest, but don't do it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • There are errors
