Review on πŸ“Ί YAMAHA SR-B20A Sound Bar: Immersive Audio with Built-in Subwoofers and Bluetooth Connectivity by Amphai Nanthaklahg ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.

If you need bass - take something like the Yamaha NS-SW050, the sub will be much cooler than the bundled one in many budget soundbars. But anyway, the device is full of compromises, on the one hand it is better than the built-in speakers of TVs and is compact, on the other hand, an average amplifier + floor stereo pair can come out about the same. After a week of operation, I can already share my experience in setting up this unit, the first step is to download the proprietary application on your phone. From the modes it is better to choose Standard, the soundbar has three enhancers: Clear Voice, 3d Surround, Bass Ext. It is better to increase the bass level with the subwoofer knob, and do not turn on the "Bass ext" enhancer, there will be no booming and the highs with the middle will be a little better. "3d surround" did not suit me either - some clicks and hiss on the tops and booming on the bottoms, a strong obstruction of the middle. But Clear Voice in films helps a lot, this is the only one of the included improvers.

Pros
  • All In One design, the price is quite budget. Built-in "mini-subwoofers". Built-in power supply, nothing dangles from the outside. The speakers are slightly larger than those of analogues with a subwoofer in the kit for the same price. There is a sub output.
Cons
  • the quality still can’t be compared with average computer speakers, but I have nowhere to put them, I just threw them on the table under the monitor and it’s better to watch movies than built-in ones. Bass though is, but so-so. Indication on the device only by LEDs, it is difficult to understand the current volume level.
