It works and still allows PWM control
Replaced my Gigabyte 2060 OC's noisy normal fans with a pair of Noctua NF A9. Heavy duty zip ties, a Y splitter and that adapter later and my thermals have improved a bit but more importantly even at near full tilt I can barely hear them. And since these are PWM fans, the GPU software still has full control over the fan speed with this adapter. Well!
