I have worn these socks for many years and they have greatly improved the clarity of my reef water. I use a deep bed of sand so there aren't many filters in my system. We made a frame out of a mold from a PVC concrete cylinder in which we made huge holes around the entire perimeter. It fits inside the sock and keeps it upright while tilting slightly to make it easier to see in the pan when it needs to be replaced. Having 2 of these works great so I always keep one in the system while the other is being cleaned. I clean mine by turning them over, tossing them in the washing machine with 1/2 cup bleach (not detergent) and doing a full wash cycle, then letting them air dry.
