So I decided to take a chance and try this charging station, although at the time there weren't any reviews on whether it would work with NES controllers. Let me tell you that it really works with NES style Switch controllers. However, they protrude beyond the bottom of the charging cradle. All I did to "fix" this was hang the front edge of the charging dock on the edge of my shelf. This gave the pilots the opportunity to go below the level of the charging station. No stability issues or anything, I'd say maybe 3-4 inches of drop and it's not a deal breaker as my Switch isn't in a high traffic area so no need to worry. I have the Hori Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro Controller, which by the way is a great product if you have large hands that cramp when holding the standard smaller joysticks and the Switch doesn't fit in the charging dock. with them as this charging station is designed for use with smaller standard Joycons. It doesn't matter either, I just remove the left side before plugging the switch into the dock. One of the main reasons I liked this docking station is that it has 2 USB ports. That way you don't lose those ports even though both USB ports on the dock are busy, so I can keep my GC Controller Hub plugged into a power outlet at all times. And one last thing, don't forget to press this charging station firmly against the Switch. Doc. I didn't really squeeze them tight and it didn't work initially. After fully plugging it in, I had no problems.
