Cats use it with no problems but couldn't get them to enter from the top and exit through the small door . It was kind of an argument for me because if you have dogs, you know what they like to do with Kitty Roca. So this feature is not the best for us. Otherwise the size is good, assembly was not difficult. Odor? Well I guess it depends on keeping the box clean and also what you feed the cats I guess. When the cats were kittens the smell was terrible - not the fault of the box but rather the kitten food. On the other hand, it motivates to dig it up as soon as possible! It's not a super deep tray, which wasn't a problem. Pulling out for cleaning might be smoother, but not impossible. The only thing I definitely don't like is the scoop. It sits comfortably on the box, but does it have a barbed end, like a fork? God help you when you pierce what you're trying to scoop out because now it's stuck to the shovel.
