A few years ago I threw away my husband's bacon grease protector because it didn't stress the grease and the small pieces disgusted me. He also rarely used it, so I'm pretty sure it will go rancid in a few years, even in the fridge. But I've recently been on the keto diet and decided I want to keep sifted bacon fat in the fridge for eggs etc. This little fat saver for bacon is so cute! It's big enough that I can store a decent amount of bacon grease, but not so big that gallons are lying around and going rancid. The quality is good, the strainer is durable, easy to clean after use. The design is perfect for a rustic kitchen. I'd love to keep it on the counter but I'm scared of foodborne illness. It looks very cute in the fridge, although next to the eggs. I removed 1 run because it seems really overpriced for its simplicity. It's very light and the lid just sits on, doesn't close. It will be fine for my use and I'm glad I bought it, but half the price would have been more reasonable.
