This is the third time I have put bacon grease in this jar and when I removed the lid today my grease was covered in small flakes of paint. Obviously this thing isn't durable like they claim because the paint is chipping and getting into the bacon grease rendering it useless! Very dissatisfied! I will buy ceramics elsewhere.

This seems to be the first time I've reviewed an item purchased from Revain. I'm so glad I bought it and glad I didn't let the negative reviews fool me. Its weight is comparable to the old tin cups we used at the well when we drew water. The lid fits well, and while some reviews have said the lid doesn't fit properly, you don't want it to be airtight as the bacon fat will go rancid. It has exactly the look I was hoping for. I am very happy with my purchase.

Mug made of thick and durable metal. Lid and filter fit well. Unfortunately, the original box was wrapped in bubble wrap for shipping. The box was opened and there was nothing left while 4-5 large pieces of enamel broke off and ended up in the bubble wrap. These parts were too large and the rims of the mug too sharp to call it a character and still use it today. The handle on the lid is so small and smooth when cleaning. There is insufficient contrast between the size and shape of the handle, its tip and shaft. I can't grab the handle to remove the lid. To take the lid off I have to grab the flange or outer rim of the lid, which is also tricky as it's almost the same size as the cup rim.
