recommendation: measure yourself without trousers. With jeans I measured 42.5" and the belt I chose was a bit large - without pants I measure 40.5" so I think maybe that's based on measurements. They provide the tools to punch an extra hole that I have yet to make. I also recommend making a screen with instructions for reversing, as there are no instructions with a belt. I bought this belt because of the price, I didn't care that it was reversible, I just needed something cheap to get out of the field/trek. This belt is so pretty and feels so good that I keep it for things like doctor visits or shopping trips. I went ahead and bought a nylon belt from the same company - just wanted to say that some of the belts you advertise specifically for men (e.g. tactical and hiking belts) are great for women too!
