Review on 🧳 MAXXHAUL 70209 Hitch Mount Weatherproof Cargo Carrier Bag 47" x 20" x 20 by David Skyline

Works well on a cargo carrier and does a great job of protecting your belongings from the weather.

I have MaxxHaul 70209 with MaxxHaul 70107 Compact Cargo Carrier Hitch Mount - 53" x 19-1/2" (perfect); I also used a heavy duty 5/8" weatherproof Cocoweb Chrome C-Lock locking pin (small extra charge but 2 of these mean you don't have to come back and find that after a good night's sleep your carrier has gone to a far distant hotel gone home); Reese hitch extender/jack and two stabilizers (one on the hitch extender and one on the truck hitch mount. Towever 84701 Super Corrosion Resistant Towbars Tensioner Stabilizer Wrist Clamp No swaying on the cargo carrier.) I stayed in 7 different hotel rooms during my trip. I didn't want to deal with the deafening wind noise of the car towering over the trunk. pocket, and from what I understand the wind resistance also reduced overall mpg (I'm all for comfort and cost savings if I can find the right marriage between the two). mid August. Light rain in Denver lasting about 45 minutes and heavy rain in Oklahoma lasting about an hour. (There was some water and mud left from the top of the road, car and rain in the bag, but everything was completely dry inside.) Per stay unpacked and repacked 4 medium sized suitcases, 2 sleeping bags 3 pillows (heaviest/widest bags flat at bottom stowed) provides more stability, and stacking two suitcases horizontally helps to form a tote bag.) The included straps are long enough. Once the top ones are connected to the bag, there is no need to take them out. Easy adjustment between top and bottom with lifting buckle. Easily removed from the mount by lifting the buckle so the power cord slips through. Lift the zip flap, unzip, and fold back the cover. No additional tension belt or similar is required. A lift extension prevents the bag from being exposed to exhaust pipes and also allows the tailgate to be raised when used with an off-road hitch. I found it easier and more attractive to just lay the bag next to the vehicle. Then the blank black side faces backwards, so you're not a moving MaxxHaul ad. (While I like their product, I just don't like being a pedestrian/driver billboard). The zip opens to the vehicle and not the rear, but with a slide out luggage box you have plenty of room to climb into your SUV and look into your bag/bags so anyone behind you can't see what you're looking for. (Not funny, but when I'm looking for my charging cable in my suitcase very quickly, I don't want everyone to see my colorful underpants :-)) I had to and still want to work on one thing, making a manufacturer's suggestion to make his product almost perfect . When tight, the straps tend to drag to the floor for too long. The top and bottom buckles tie together along the length of the strap, but even with the best placement, some of the straps still stretch. I folded them and tied them back to the strap with rubberized flexible wire, but a few simple hook and loop fasteners at the end can easily solve this problem. This ensures a snug fit during movement and prevents the straps from wobbling in the wind. A great overall package of products that have helped make the journey more enjoyable by allowing children to stretch their legs a little more in the cabin and reducing incidents between younger siblings.
