One day I found Vice Pro Plus on the track and hit the mark. It felt unusually good and seemed to go 10-15 yards further than my current picks - various soft versions of Calloway and Titleist. I played with Vice until the end of the round and then quickly bought a dozen. Normally I'm more careful with rallies, but this ball felt very different and went noticeably further. As a golfer in my 70's, my driving range was within 200 yards. calm. Flat fairway. This expensive ball is designed for much faster swing speeds, but I'm confident I'll hit it 10-15 yards further than any other ball I've played with. I can also feel it on the face of the club. It's nice to feel the ball "fly" off the racquet face at slow swing speeds. I was really surprised to see that the Vice meets USGA requirements. I had my doubts! As for the credibility of this review, I play 140 times a year, mostly on the same pitch. I know where my discs end up. And with this ball, they're 10-15 yards further than many others I've tried. And the icing on the cake is the feel of the ball on the stick surface. I'm definitely pushing it even though it's not marketed as a 'soft' ball. The best I can say is that Vice is trying to win over the Pro-V audience. The short game feel and ability to turn it left and right is excellent. But the main reason I've stuck with this ball for months is the feel of how it feels off the racquet and the distance. The only complaint is about the paintwork and paint. I like yellow balloons and their neon green color is almost yellow. The paint on the Vice tends to peel early and it scratches a little more easily than some of the others. Vice would have been better off improving the painting process and then going down to a glossy yellow pearl (like Calloway) which is much easier to see and lasts longer between swaps. But. I will keep playing this ball. I will pay more than I want to pay. I will tolerate green (green on grass?) or switch to white. I hope they never change the formula because when they tried to make the ball for the power hitters they collided with the ball for me.
