With Fatmax, just tried other brands and they just don't stand out like this one. I've been using 35ft for years but I have a construction business. I do a lot of layouts over 60ft, this allows me to get down to 37ft before I have to drive a nail to continue. Fits my hand well - the XL doesn't brag, but if you have a smaller hand it can be uncomfortable to hold. And yes 37 feet not 40 no band will consistently get out of the elements without braking or not fully retracting you can get 40 but beware the springs will wear out if you do this repeatedly like they do at 40 do feet. Spring return is a lot of high-strength steel that, like all belts, fatigues over time. Stands out great at 10ft and climbs consistently 13ft with no wind or rain as the band is not designed to carry any extra weight or external forces. The standout results are lab tests, but they work well. I don't tell people under 35 feet because most designs are overkill when when it eventually dies 75% of the band looks new and worn for the first 20 feet, but that's the nature of the job.
