In the wood and metal turning courses I taught in the workshops, I focused on safety and the basics of using the lathe and the tools. I've seen professional metal detectors use anti-fatigue mats. When I stand in front of the Powermatic lathes in the Techshop for 6 or 7 hours and teach wood turning and/or metal spinning, I am completely exhausted.
