I've been looking forward to trying these out since I heard about them but have been put off by the reviews since then. After overhauling my living room recessed lighting with new 5 inch housings and LIFX A19 bulbs, I decided to make a change and revamp the LED strips in the living room and started buying 2 starter kits and 8 meters . additional strips, total 12m LED strips. Firstly, before the firmware 2.74 that came out a few days ago, I definitely noticed a difference in the color temperature of the light compared to the LIFX A19 recessed bulbs, but setting the LED strips 500k higher than the A19 bulbs seems this As other reviewers have pointed out, below 3500K the light becomes very green. BUT Firmware 2.74 did a much better job of fixing the green light issue below 3500K and balanced colors with A19s. WiFi This seems to be the #1 problem people complain about, but I had no problems even before firmware 2.74. I have a wireless access point inside a wall of controllers that when I check the app shows 4 out of 4 connections. blisters. This hotspot also connected to 9 A19 bulbs with no problem and I didn't have to do anything stupid like create a dedicated LIFX SSID. The LIFX developer app also had no trouble connecting and controlling lights, and what you can do is pretty cool. All in all, as a longtime LIFX customer, I can say this is just as great a product as their regular lightbulbs, only brand new. And as we've seen over the years, they keep their promises to improve and fix things and may only have firmware.
