I installed this kit tonight on a 2013 Corolla using the factory audio display (touch screen) with no navigation. My friends sister has wanted one for a long time and she will be taking her friends everywhere next week so she ordered this set and I installed it for her. We live in a city so parking spaces are scarce, tiny and everyone parks at an angle so parking out can be a hassle. She only wished it had been installed for added peace of mind. I have a backup camera (and backup sensors) on my own car and it will definitely come in handy. There are a lot of small children speeding down the sidewalk on their scooters so first of all it will be safer to be able to see exactly what is behind our cars if they are parked while the small children are gone. However, I am impressed! The instructions and YouTube videos were helpful, but some of the steps and wiring were different than what was sent to me. I installed a few other backup cameras so I knew how to do it, but it can be a little tricky if you've never worked on your car. Most of the time is dismantling the door panel for wiring and dismantling the dashboard to remove the radio. I hooked everything up before threading the wires and drilling a hole for the camera just to make sure it worked and it worked great. Factory backup cameras) because the center section of the 2013 Corolla is slanted and would give too much view of the bumper if I put it there. I also drilled the hole closer to the back of the pad and not in the middle, otherwise the camera would stick out and not be flush. - Buy the fairing removal tools! This makes work much easier and prevents damage to the plastic lining. I'm familiar with Toyota so it's not that hard for me, but the trim removal tools are definitely worth it considering they're cheap. Take your time. They want to get it right the first time without breaking anything. All in all a great set. I find it's a little pricey but you are paying for the convenience factor with this kit and I think it's worth it. My friend's sister loves it. That's the only thing she regrets. The 2014 Corolla had a standard rear camera, but the 2013 didn't. Now she is! My girlfriend is having problems with the rear of her 2013 Corolla S (the rear is very tall) so I will tell her to order this kit and I will fit it for her. I would like to point out that even if you have a backup camera, it is absolutely necessary that you physically turn your head backwards and use the mirrors. He won't catch everything and you have to practice with him. I've started installing backup cameras on all of our cars (four now, fifth soon) and I ALWAYS advise car owners that you can't just look at the screen and back up. This is an aid, not a substitute for mirrors and inspection. I think this is a great security feature if used properly. Luckily I'm the "car" for my friends/family so they all listen to my common sense babble even though they have a camera now and I sit in the car with them for a while while they practice and lay out objects behind the car and see how far away they actually are compared to what they see on the screen. My routine: 1. Put reverse gear, step on the brake and the car stops2. Look at the camera screen to see what's behind me3. Physically turn my head to the right rear of the car so I can see myself reversing4. If necessary, take a look at the camera screen5. Switch to drive and go, I am attaching a picture to this review. In the first part I test the camera (so it's pointed at the roof), the next part is a rear view with the camera installed and the last part is a close-up of the camera installed. EDIT, 3 months later: I've attached a nice daytime shot of what the rear camera looks like. It has a good wide angle (not as wide as the Toyota factory camera but much better than the Esky camera on my car) and works very well. The Corolla is a small car, but the rear end is still pretty big, and like I said, the extra safety and comfort are priceless. However very satisfied! EDIT2: The wide angle of this camera's lens makes it very useful when pulling out of a parking lot. This allows you to see cars next to you in the aisle so you can see if cars are approaching. The van next to us was parked far away in its cab tonight so it was very difficult to see it when I got out backwards as the cab had tilted. Thanks to this camera, I was rolling very slowly, and even if I couldn't turn my head and see oncoming cars, the camera let me see that a car was waiting for us. I used to be one of those people who thought the rear camera was just a cool toy, but it's actually more than that. You know how many people follow me and text their phones without even realizing I'm stepping back? A lot of! The camera is also useful when I have to parallel park. I've always been decent at parallel parking, but the camera lets me see exactly how much space I have. EDIT 3: It's been almost 7 months now and the camera continues to work perfectly. I'll update this review if anything changes, but for now I think it's a great purchase and hope it will be with me for many years to come! EDIT 4 (2016): I just bought one of these sets again, this time for my 'new' mom. Krone 2013 I was much faster this time, just over an hour for the installation. This set works amazingly well and I really have no hesitation in recommending it. As with any rear camera, bright sun or rain/fog will reduce its functionality, but it works very well. Combined with redundant sensors, it relieves every parking situation. As long as both cameras work I'm happy :) EDIT 5: Had to swap out the camera for my mother's 2013 Corolla after 4 months as it was starting to fog up. The seller was VERY responsive and the replacement has been on the car for 7 months now and is still crystal clear. Since everything was already connected, it could be replaced quickly. I wash my car once a week so the weather seal has certainly been tested - and so far so good with the exchange. EDIT 6 (2/25/18): Cameras still work fine! In fact, I bought a separate backup camera (not a kit) to have on hand just in case. I asked the seller to replace the piece of foam that came with it and he responded immediately saying he would do it. I definitely appreciate that it's still responsive after three years and I continue to recommend this kit. My mom said that even though she has backup sensors, she loves her backup camera and definitely uses it. My neighbor doesn't even look at his backup cameras (to each his own), but we certainly use them :)
